Granite Blasting

Garnet abrasive is a naturally occuring silicate mineral deposit. The harder species of garnet like almandine are used for abrasive purposes, and have a hardness on the Mohs scale of about 6.5 to 7.5. Garnetabrasive is one of the most effective, safe, and versatile medias for blastcleaning. Unlike some of these blast abrasives, the Garnet abrasive does not contain high levels of toxic substances and known carcinogens; this makes Garnet, much safer for workers operating sandblasting equipment and for those around the sandblasting site.
Garnet blast media is also much more environmentally-friendly than Slag and Silica Sand abrasives. This environmental-responsible aspect makes Garnet abrasives ideal for sites that are on or around bodies of water. The Garnet abrasive is used for wet or dry sandblasting. Garnet blast media offers superior hardness (Mohs Hardness is typically 7-8), as well as excellent coating prep and adhesion properties.
